Our Services
Haematology
Haematology is the branch of medicine concerned with studying, diagnosing, and treating blood disorders. It involves analyzing blood cells and their components to diagnose conditions like anemia, leukemia, clotting disorders, and more. The haematology division focuses on performing essential laboratory tests to assess blood health and function. It diagnoses and manages disorders including haemolytic disorders, affecting red blood cell destruction, haemostatic disorders impacting blood clotting, and oncologic disorders like leukemia and lymphoma.
Clinical Microbiology
Clinical Microbiology specializes in conducting routine cultures and sensitivities, accredited by NABL, utilizing automated equipment like Bact alert 3D/Vitek2 (Biomerieux). These automated facilities, including blood culture and continuous monitoring, enable early and accurate isolation of bacterial pathogens, crucial for diagnosing sepsis—an acute and life-threatening condition resulting from systemic infection.
The department’s prompt identification of pathogens plays a vital role in guiding effective antimicrobial therapy, contributing significantly to patient outcomes and infection control within the healthcare setting.
Infectious Serolog
This division encompasses a wide range of tests accredited under NABL scope, including hepatitis markers, HCV, Hepatitis B, and HIV, performed using automated Roche (e411) equipment. Critical care assessment markers such as CRP & hs CRP, alongside others like RA, C3, C4, IgG, and IgM are conducted on Nephelometry-based Mispa i3. Additional tests for infectious diseases include Dengue NS1, Chikengunia Antibody, Dengue IgM/IgG, Leptospira Antibody, Typhidot, and Widal Tube test.
Infectious molecular biology further enhances diagnostic capabilities, utilizing advanced techniques such as RT-PCR (Qiagen RGQ) for TB with MDR detection and a respiratory pathogens panel covering more than 30 pathogens. Additionally, the department conducts viral load detection for HCV, HBV, and HIV, alongside screenings for various other infectious agents including HLA B27, Covid RTPCR, Influenza strains, Chickenguniya, Dengue, and HPV. Recent additions to the service include genotypic drug resistance testing, reflecting a commitment to staying at the forefront of infectious disease diagnostics and providing comprehensive care to patients.
Biochemistry
Biochemistry provides essential services in routine clinical biochemistry and immunology, operating 24/7 under the supervision of experienced medical biochemists.
Utilizing gold standard auto analyzer Cobas C 311 from Roche, routine biochemistry tests including LFT, KFT, Lipid Profile, Cardiac Profile, Iron Profile, and urinary chemistry are conducted with precision. Hba1C analysis is performed using an automatic Aranax X-5 machine, while electrolyte testing is carried out on the acculyte 3P from Cornley. The majority of these tests hold NABL accreditation, with rigorous internal and external quality assurance measures in place to maintain accuracy and reliability.
Clinical Pathology
Clinical Pathology specializes in the analysis of various body fluid samples, encompassing urine, stool, semen, and more. This branch of pathology plays a crucial role in diagnosing and monitoring a wide range of diseases and conditions by examining the cellular and biochemical components present in these bodily fluids. Through meticulous analysis and interpretation of these samples, clinical pathologists provide valuable insights into patients’ health status, aiding in the formulation of appropriate treatment plans and interventions.
Histopathology & Cytopathology
Histopathology & Cytopathology specialize in analyzing specimens from various medical specialties including Cardiology, Urology, Gastroenterology, Respiratory Medicine, Orthopaedics, Neurology, and Oncology. This sub-specialty plays a pivotal role in providing diagnostic and prognostic insights, particularly in oncology.
The cytopathology division offers efficient gynecological services such as PAP smear, as well as non-gynecological services including bronchial specimens (BAL, TBNA), cytology of fluids, and USG/CT-guided FNA. Through meticulous examination and interpretation of these specimens, histopathologists and cytopathologists contribute significantly to the accurate diagnosis and management of various medical conditions, particularly in the realm of cancer care.
